The Cambian Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Home Manager to join our team at Wing College. As a Deputy Home Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining a stable, happy, and caring environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of our young people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective supervision and appraisal to care staff, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance to deliver high-quality care.
  • Manage the team in the absence of the Manager, ensuring effective rostering and deployment of staff across the house/unit or school/college.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management, other sources, and the team, using a range of strategies to ensure seamless collaboration and information sharing.
  • Contribute to assessments and care planning, using knowledge of the young people to inform decisions and ensure their needs are met.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process, helping to identify suitable candidates for care roles.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification in child/adult care/support.
  • Knowledge of basic aspects of management practice, including principles of effective supervision and appraisal.
  • Understanding of learning disabilities and/or special needs, including recent developments.
  • Ability to work a varied shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, and to attend work punctually and reliably.
