Specialty Ophthalmologist

Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Specialty Ophthalmologist to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in our General Eye department.

This part-time position offers the flexibility of working 8 sessions per week, with opportunities to consider less than full-time applications. Our General Eye department provides services across multiple sites, including Pinderfields Hospital, Dewsbury and District Hospital, and Pontefract General Infirmary. We offer comprehensive support from secretarial teams, optometrists, orthoptists, specialist nurses, and eye clinic liaison officers.

1. Supporting the provision of General Ophthalmology services, including outpatient clinics, lasers, and day case surgery.
2. Delivering urgent and emergency care duties, including out-of-hours on-call schedules, while adhering to safe working practices.

• A minimum of four years' full-time hospital service, including at least two years' experience in Ophthalmology.
• Wide experience in managing Ophthalmology patients in outpatients, lasers, and theatre settings.

• Ophthalmology fellowship or equivalent; evidence of educational ideas or project work.

The estimated salary for this role is around £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
