Job Title: Network Manager

We are seeking an experienced Network Manager to join our team at Planet Recruitment. As a Network Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our clients in the education sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues
  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality ICT support service to our clients
  • Establish and maintain high-quality learning facilities and assist in planning future development
  • Provide overall responsibility for ICT service in the school/centre as Network Manager
  • Identify potential network issues and escalate unresolved problems
  • Perform advanced maintenance of specialist equipment, repairs/modifications, and software/hardware enhancements
  • Prioritize staff workloads, mentor, advise, and train junior staff on appropriate practices & procedures
  • Advise senior staff on areas of potential ICT growth/problems
  • Provide detailed specialist advice and guidance on ICT requirements
  • Communicate technical information effectively (verbally and in writing)
  • Monitor stock levels within an agreed budget, catalog resources, and undertake audits
  • Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, and security
  • Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act 1984
  • Analyze support logs to produce detailed management reports
  • Provide second-level support for complex requests
  • Set support priorities based on staff availability and ICT service demands
  • Advise the leadership team on areas of concern
Technical Expertise:
  • Perform advanced diagnosis procedures on hardware, peripherals, and applications
  • Advise on compatibility of hardware and OS
  • Advise on compatibility of applications with existing systems
  • Work with the Senior Engineer to design and implement network infrastructure
  • Manage active network components including switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Maintain Internet filtering systems
  • Manage remote access to the school's intranet
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in network management and technical support
  • Strong technical knowledge of network infrastructure and systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of data protection and child protection policies
