Join Hexcel Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer - Test Equipment Specialist

You will play a key role in supporting the commissioning and validation of new test methods, test equipment, and procedures in our state-of-the-art laboratories. As a Mechanical Engineer - Test Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that test frames, fixtures, chambers, extensometers, and associated laboratory equipment remain functional, calibrated, and safe to use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the line manager in maintaining test equipment and ensuring it is calibrated and safe to use.
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers to address issues and implement remedies.
  • Collaborate with software suppliers and colleagues to manage and maintain test software for material data management.
  • Lead the identification and implementation of advanced technologies used to generate test data.

Requirements:

  • A technical background in an engineering or instrumentation discipline.
  • Relevant working experience and familiarity with fiber-reinforced composite materials.
  • Hands-on experience and technical knowledge of the operation of screw-driven and hydraulic test frames and associated instruments.
  • Understanding of the mechanisms of machine operations and the interfacing of hardware and software.
