Job Description:

Functional Safety Compliance Engineer

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a leading engineering and scientific company as an experienced Functional Safety Compliance Engineer. You will be responsible for managing the safety of product and equipment, working in a hybrid role with three days expected on-site.

The company is looking for a skilled professional who can risk assess equipment designs, identify system requirements, and provide expert advice on functional safety and compliance. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplined team to gather requirements, understand equipment purposes, and define safety system architectures.

You will also assess design safety circuits and systems to achieve defined safety ratings, generate related documentation, and provide guidance and training as required. Additionally, you will undertake Machinery Safety assessments, manage '13849' Part 1 (& 2) and related Standards, and lead FMEDA/FMEA activities when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to HNC level in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with high tech electrical / mechanical machines and power systems
  • Familiar with machinery directives, low Voltage Directive, or BS EN 60204 - Safety of Machinery
  • Experience with adjustable speed electrical power drive systems Safety requirements
