About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Turning Point. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Prepare food and drinks, and support individuals with mealtime activities
  • Support individuals with medication, including creams and lotions
  • Manual handling and lifting
  • Record keeping and maintaining accurate records
  • Support individuals with managing their finances
  • Help maintain a clean and safe living environment
  • Ensure individuals' health and safety needs are met
  • Liaise with landlords and other professionals as required
Requirements
  • Knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs
  • Passionate, caring, and enthusiastic approach
  • Flexible and patient, with a non-judgmental attitude
  • Excellent communication skills, including understanding non-verbal communication
  • Ability to complete physical aspects of the role, including manual handling
  • Transferable experience of helping individuals manage anxiety
