About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team at London Gatwick. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the development and management of cost plans for large-scale projects, ensuring the financial efficiency and feasibility of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed budgets and cost estimates at various project stages, from initial concept to final construction.
  • Control project costs and prevent overruns by tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct accurate measurement, rate analysis, and risk assessments to inform cost planning decisions.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within budget and provide optimal value.
  • Support the development of appropriate procurement strategies and run procurement exercises.
  • Administer contracts for design and construction contracts, including change management.
  • Accurately report on spend, anticipated final cost, and forecast future months' expenditures through to completion.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a cost engineering, contract management, or commercial role within the construction or infrastructure sectors, working on projects typically over £5 million.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering, construction, or business-related field.
  • Full working knowledge and understanding of using web-based contract management tools, such as Cemar.
  • Thorough understanding of NEC suite of contracts and associated contract administration and negotiations.
