Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation... Full time

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our Pharmacy team at the Aintree site of Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full-time position, with options for flexible working.

Your core role will involve leading the team responsible for the safe and effective receipt and distribution of medicines on the Aintree site. You will be a key member of the Procurement Operational Group, linking in with purchasing and medicines value colleagues to ensure robust processes are in place to provide stocked medicines to our wards and departments. You will also support the management of critical supply shortages across LUHFT.

To achieve this, you must possess excellent organisational skills: you must be able to work accurately, have a good eye for detail, be able to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines, and be committed to the delivery of high standards in a patient-focused service. Experience of working as a Technician leader in a busy Pharmacy department is essential, as is an excellent working knowledge of good distribution practice and processes.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £43,041 - £49,567 per annum, depending on experience. The salary range reflects the importance of this role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

As a Pharmacy Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing the existing stores and distribution teams towards our vision of merging into one cross-site team for purchasing and distribution services across LUHFT.
  • Working closely with the Technical Services Manager for Purchasing, Stores and Distribution to plan, coordinate, and manage the workload of pharmacy technical and support staff within the Pharmacy store.
  • Ensuring safe systems are in operation for receipt and distribution of medicines within pharmacy stores.
  • Managing logistics and transfer of medicines between all sites of Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and external customers.
  • Supporting workforce planning for technical and support staff by actively participating in staff recruitment.

Additional benefits include professional development opportunities and a comprehensive induction program to support you in your new role. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
