Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Google Inc. in London, UK. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersection of cognitive science and AI/ML, with a focus on machine learning and human-centered questions.

As a member of our research team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that aim to advance the field of machine learning and cognition. You will be expected to design and implement research solutions, define data structures and frameworks, and evaluate metrics for research solution development and implementation.

You will also be responsible for identifying new and upcoming research areas, collaborating with external and internal researchers, and developing long-term research strategies and plans to expand the impact of Google research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct interdisciplinary research at the intersection of cognitive science and AI/ML.
  • Design and implement research solutions, defining data structures and frameworks, and evaluating metrics for research solution development and implementation.
  • Identify new and upcoming research areas, collaborating with external and internal researchers.
  • Develop long-term research strategies and plans to expand the impact of Google research.
  • Author research papers to share and generate impact of research results across the team and in the research community.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary research between cognitive science, computer science, machine learning, or philosophy.
  • One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories.
