About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Advisor to join our team at Boots Opticians. As a Pharmacy Advisor, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient-centred care and ensuring the safe supply of medicines.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide health advice to patients through focussed conversations, ensuring they leave the pharmacy feeling informed and confident about their healthcare needs.
• Deliver the technical aspects of the dispensary, including ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collection of prescriptions.
• Comply with legal and professional requirements, as well as accepted guidance on professional practice in Boots.
• Seek opportunities to engage with GPs and practice teams to promote services and items.
• Deliver efficient dispensary operations and ensure dispensing losses are minimised.

Requirements

• Either an NVQ Level 2 equivalent in Pharmacy Services or be working towards and have completed the first year of an Mpharm course at university.
• Completed a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent to work in our dispensaries. If not previously completed, we will support your development to complete our training within 6 months of joining us.
• Opportunity to develop your professional career and achieve a competency and knowledge-based NVQ Level 3 (QCF) qualification in Pharmacy Services to become eligible to register with the GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician.
