Our calibration department currently supports 30,000 pieces of equipment per year, ranging from traditional analogue equipment through to state-of-the-art digital systems. We focus on the calibration of TMDE capable of making AC/DC voltage, current, resistance, inductance, capacitance, and time & frequency measurements.

We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality calibration services that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Salary: The estimated salary for this role is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description: As an Electrical Calibration Specialist, you will be responsible for performing and supervising high-level calibration and repair of electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). This includes resource management and calibration workload signoff. You will also write, review, and approve calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets. Additionally, you will take part in UKAS (ISO 17025) audits and quickly achieve UKAS signatory status.

You will deliver specific, target-driven on-the-job training/experiential learning to apprentices/lesser-experienced team members. Your professional communication with technical stakeholders, including consultation on new measurement technologies, is essential for success in this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need extensive experience in a precision Electrical metrology laboratory environment. You must have an understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001) and hold a relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND or equivalent).
