About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Property Assistant Paralegal to join our Conveyancing team in Bury St Edmunds. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to our property fee earners, ensuring the smooth operation of our conveyancing department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support to the property fee earner: Provide administrative assistance to our property fee earners, including preparing and reviewing documents, and maintaining accurate records.
- Associated administration: Carry out various administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and photocopying, to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
- Using case management system: Utilize our case management system to manage client files, track progress, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Deal with client queries: Respond to client inquiries, provide updates on the progress of their cases, and ensure that their needs are met.
- Amend and reformat documents: Review and edit documents, including contracts and other legal documents, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Apply for searches: Use online services to apply for searches, including those related to land registry and other property-related matters.
- Using HRMC website: Complete stamp duty land tax forms using the HMRC website, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Deal with post completion matters: Handle post-completion matters, including the preparation and submission of final documents.
- Maintain client files: Ensure that client files are up-to-date, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the filing system: Maintain the filing system, ensuring that all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
- Assist fee earners: Provide administrative support to fee earners, including data entry, filing, and other tasks as required.
- Dealing with new business opportunities: Assist in the processing of new business opportunities, ensuring that they are handled efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in a property-related role, preferably in a conveyancing department.
- Skills: Excellent administrative skills, including data entry, filing, and document preparation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Education: Relevant qualifications, such as a law degree or paralegal certification.
