Job Overview

A leading company in the semi-conductor industry, microTECH Global LTD, is seeking an experienced Product Engineer to join their New Product Introduction team in the UK.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with 3-8 years of experience in product engineering, test engineering, and/or hardware design. They will be responsible for ensuring product conformance to specifications through analysis of data from automated test equipment (ATE), bench measurements, and design of experiments (DOE).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure product conformance to specifications through analysis of data from ATE, bench measurements, and DOE
  • Interact regularly with Marketing and Design groups to influence design for manufacturability, design for test, design for reliability, ease of volume ramp, and realization of NPI targets
  • Participate in decisions on the development or sourcing of technologies required for new products, focusing on cost and manufacturability
  • Review design implementation for manufacturability and testability
  • Coordinate test and characterization plans and device validation plans, working with Test Development and Validation groups to ensure overall product compliance and manufacturability
  • Coordinate product qualification planning, documentation, and reporting
  • Actively participate in Design Reviews and Test Reviews to ensure testability/manufacturability features were considered and implemented
  • Perform capability analysis, margin analysis, correlation studies, and yield modeling on new products
  • Review and optimize coverage, test limits, and guard banding
  • Coordinate manufacturing documentation for production transfer and product maintenance
  • Work with Production Process/Packaging Engineering to resolve problems that occur during wafer fabrication, packaging, die sort, and final package test processes
  • Drive the resolution of failure analysis, root cause, and corrective actions for field returns

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering with 3 years of experience or Electrical Engineer with 3-8 years of experience in product engineering, test engineering, and/or hardware design
  • Experience in the semi-conductor industry
  • Strong knowledge of high-speed serial digital interconnect components and test methodologies
  • Experience in high-speed digital ATE test platforms or equivalent rack solutions
  • Experience with quality systems including corrective actions, 8D reports, and failure analysis reports
  • Experience with JEDEC and/or Mil quality requirements
  • Experience with yield management tools
  • Experience with project management is an asset

Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
