Bids / Proposals Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bids / Proposals Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our electrical / controls engineering team, you will be responsible for preparing proposals for various projects, with a focus on automotive body shop automation.

About the Job

  • Develop technical solutions and generate costs for electrical / software projects.
  • Collaborate with the applications team to understand their requirements and develop the best costs for their needs.
  • Work with the strategic procurement team to identify and negotiate the best costs for given applications.
  • Conduct cost-based research and analysis, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify and mitigate cost risks, ensuring project success.
  • Manage the bid process from receipt of RFQ to submission, ensuring all internal processes are followed.
  • Develop and maintain proposal documents, ensuring they meet Leidos' standards and requirements.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to develop the proposal, ensuring all aspects are covered.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in preparing bids for electrical / controls engineering projects.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to understand project costs.
  • Strong organizational and self-motivation skills.
  • Excellent technical literacy and CAD drawing reading skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments on a technical level.
  • Desirable: Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
