Norton Park Hotel, Spa & Manor House is a 4-star, 165-bedroom property located in Sutton Scotney, just outside Winchester. Our hotel offers a range of dining experiences, including Scene restaurant and bar & lounge, a terrace, afternoon tea service, private dining options, and meeting & event spaces. We also have a separate Manor House and leisure facilities that include a pool, gym, steam room, sauna, and a relaxing Elemis spa.

The Role: Sous Chef

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of the kitchen brigade, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchens and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and consistent service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Stay up-to-date on culinary trends and techniques to enhance menu offerings.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Commis or Chef de Partie in a busy, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong culinary skills with a comprehensive understanding of different cooking techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications or equivalent experience.
