Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver to join our team at Manpower UK Ltd. As a 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting new cooking oil and exchanging empty containers with our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering fresh oil to the catering and restaurant trade and collecting used cooking oil.
  • Conducting pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order and complies with safety regulations.
  • Performing regular maintenance of the vehicle to ensure it remains in proper working order and reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Driving the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to traffic laws and complying with all safety regulations and procedures while operating the vehicle.
  • Safely loading and unloading cargo and ensuring it is secured according to safety regulations.
  • Making and taking payment for oil and maintaining the accuracy of cash and prepaid cards.
  • Communicating with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery times and any issues that arise during transport.
  • Accurately recording information following oil delivery and/or collection, including completion of waste transfer notes.
  • Reporting missed or failed deliveries on a daily basis to the Microsite Manager.
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with customers and prospective customers, assisting with sales efforts when required.

Requirements:

  • A full UK driving license with 7.5T and a clean driving record.
  • Experience of driving 7.5T in the UK with exceptional knowledge of UK roadways, laws, and regulations (minimum 6 months).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with the Transport Office, customers, and other drivers on the road.
  • Professional demeanor, appearance, and conduct.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a willingness to engage with customers positively.
  • Awareness of safety regulations relating to driving a vehicle and health and safety in the workplace.
  • Ability to problem-solve and provide examples of handling unexpected situations.
  • A high level of attention to detail due to the nature of checking documents.
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and flexibility in your schedule, as the job may require working long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
