Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lecturer in Health, Wellbeing & Social Care to join our academic team. As a lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching across a range of health and social care modules, contributing to curriculum development, and ensuring that all learning outcomes are met.

You will also be required to develop, update, and improve course materials as appropriate, use a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials including live online learning, and attend meetings as required. Additionally, you will be expected to actively participate in staff development activities and peer observations, understand and keep up to date with student support to ensure our students have the full support and guidance they need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, deliver, and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials as needed
  • Utilize various learning and teaching methods/materials, including live online learning
  • Attend meetings as required, contributing to decision-making processes and developing productive working relationships within teams
  • Participate in staff development activities and peer observations
  • Understand and stay current on student support to ensure students receive comprehensive support and guidance
  • Participate in GBS's performance management program, meeting clearly defined objectives for student outcomes, satisfaction, retention, and attendance
  • Perform administrative duties as agreed upon with your line manager
Requirements:
  • Masters degree and/or PhD in relevant area
  • Teaching qualifications: PGCHE, MA in HE Practice or FHEA etc
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses
  • Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback
