IC Resources is partnering with a dynamic start-up based in Oxfordshire to find a freelance Optical Systems engineer for their exciting space-based technology projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge wireless technologies and contribute to the development of innovative optical systems.

The Opportunity
  • This 6-month contract position is located onsite, 3 days a week, in Oxfordshire.
  • As an outside IR35 freelancer, you will have the autonomy to work independently while collaborating with the team.
Key Responsibilities
  1. You will be responsible for defining requirements for optical systems, conducting modeling, and performing trade studies to guide design decisions.
  2. Your expertise in technical project planning and systems engineering, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), will be invaluable in this role.
  3. Experience in designing complex electro-optical systems for extreme environments, including optomechanical, electronic, and software integration, is essential.
Requirements
  • You should have strong knowledge of optical systems and experience in defining requirements, conducting modeling, and performing trade studies.
  • A background in technical project planning and systems engineering, including MBSE, is necessary for this position.
  • Proficiency in designing complex electro-optical systems for extreme environments, including optomechanical, electronic, and software integration, is required.

Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum.
