Job Title: Lead Quality Engineer

About the Role:

The successful candidate will lead a team of quality engineers and technicians to ensure the highest standards are maintained throughout the production process. With a strong background in quality engineering within the aerospace industry, the ideal candidate will possess leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellence in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead, coach, and develop a team of quality engineers and technicians to meet departmental objectives.
  2. Design, implement, and sustain quality assurance systems and processes to ensure alignment with aerospace standards.
  3. Conduct root cause analysis and initiate corrective and preventive measures to resolve any quality concerns.
  4. Carry out audits to ensure compliance with both internal and external quality standards and regulatory frameworks.
  5. Collaborate with teams across design, manufacturing, and supply chain to embed quality throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  6. Review and validate engineering changes, production processes, and documentation to assess quality impact.
  7. Interpret and analyze quality data to identify trends and pinpoint areas for potential improvement.
  8. Liaise with customers and regulatory bodies to address quality issues and ensure swift resolutions.
  9. Prepare and present detailed quality reports, key metrics, and actionable recommendations to senior management.
  10. Act as the primary contact for quality concerns during production meetings and support ongoing production efforts.
  11. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
  12. Assist in developing and maintaining FMEA, PPAP, and APQP documentation by customer and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  1. Extensive experience in quality engineering within the aerospace industry.
  2. Deep understanding of aerospace standards and regulatory requirements (AS9100, ISO 9001).
  3. Proficient in quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, SPC, and root cause analysis.
  4. Certifications in quality management (e.g., ASQ).
  5. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field is required, with an advanced degree.
