Management Accountant

Reed is proud to be working with a fantastic client of ours, who are looking to hire an Assistant Management Accountant on a 3 month Fixed Term Contract. They are looking for a candidate who is passionate about supporting an exciting business and to tackle the challenges of improving balance sheet ratios and ensuring cash flow for our ongoing expansion.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain an 8-week rolling cash flow forecast to ensure accurate financial planning and decision-making.
- Perform daily reconciliation of cash book and bank accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Implement checks and controls over all outgoing payments to prevent errors and ensure timely payments.
- Manage purchase ledger, validate invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and schedule payments to ensure efficient and accurate financial management.
- Oversee the raising and issuing of sales invoices to ensure timely and accurate billing.
- Manage company-wide credit card expenditure to ensure compliance and control.
- Prepare month-end journals, including prepayments, accruals, and depreciation to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Submit information to statutory authorities, including HMRC to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Reconcile all balance sheet lines monthly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Run payroll for 60+ persons to ensure timely and accurate payment.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts to meet Group deadlines to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Report on Actual vs Budget variances and prepare monthly cash flow statements to ensure accurate financial planning and decision-making.
- Assist with the coordination of annual year-end accounts preparation to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Review and enhance company internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- AAT Level 3 or above qualification.
- Minimum 6 years' experience in a similar role.
- Competency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong personal integrity with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Hardworking with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and drive changes.
- Up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and financial issues.
- Sound decision-making skills.
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with Access Dimension is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Experience with payroll software is a plus.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
