We're seeking a talented Data Analyst to join our team and contribute to our mission to deliver accurate and reliable weather forecasts, warnings, and climate information. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our capability, impact, or quality of our predictions, products, or advice.

About the Role

This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge while making a difference to our planet. You will work with observations scientists and engineers to investigate new and existing forms of observation data and apply statistical and visualisation techniques to various datasets.

As a member of our team, you will have the chance to network with our cohort of Industrial Placements across the Met Office and understand the career opportunities we can offer after you graduate.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • You will work with observations scientists and engineers to understand new and existing forms of observation data and investigate quality control measures.
  • You will apply statistical and visualisation techniques to various datasets.
  • You will produce written and verbal briefings for internal colleagues on the findings and recommendations.
Essential Criteria and Skills

To be successful in this role, you should possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to draw on appropriate statistical and/or data science tools to analyse datasets, and communicate the findings.

You should also be able to write code in python or a similar coding language, with a desire to enhance your skills and/or learn new languages as needed.
