Software Development Graduate Role

Amazon's Brisbane-based software engineering teams are responsible for the critical last hop in outbound fulfillment of customer orders. As a software development graduate, you will work with scientists and engineers to optimize fulfillment processes, reducing costs and improving quality.

You will experiment with new ideas, turning successful ones into full production systems while failing fast and learning from those that are not.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build cutting-edge and highly distributed systems to enable a world-class, cost-effective, and flexible solution.
  • Create customer-facing software used on Amazon sites worldwide.
  • Own the development of software end-to-end, from working with stakeholders on requirements through to owning the ongoing operations of the software at scale.
  • Develop code in object-oriented languages like C++ and Java and build large-scale robust distributed systems.

Requirements:

  • You must be in the final semester/trimester of a university undergraduate or postgraduate degree, or have completed your university studies within the past 24 months of applying.
  • Enrolled/Completed a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology at university or a relevant tertiary institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing in a Linux environment.
  • Experience developing software on Amazon Web Services (AWS) platforms.
