About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at JAM Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing design solutions to meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage design requirements and acceptance criteria for complex systems and products.
  • Understand contractual and performance requirements for various systems and support the definition of associated acceptance criteria and events.
  • Produce documentation to support design review processes, including technical specifications, diagrams, and design evidence.
  • Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive and captured within requirements management tools.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company standards.
  • Undertake design reviews and presentations to customers.
  • Provide technical support to integrated performance and acceptance activities.
  • Review supplier documentation and ensure it is captured and recorded appropriately.
  • Support the development of estimates for scope of work and resources required to deliver projects.
  • Deliver technical input and engineering solutions in support of build activities, defect resolution, and change management.
Requirements
  • Experience in mechanical design, with a focus on piping, stress/structural, cooling systems, gearbox/gearing design, rotor dynamics, pumping systems, steam systems, feed systems, and lubricating oil systems.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and engineering standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
