About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled professional to work in a fast-paced environment, developing good business relationships with brokers and underwriting commercial combined/SME risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with new and existing brokers to develop strong business relationships and negotiate pricing and terms.
  • Underwrite commercial combined/SME risks within the Broker Business team, including quoting new business and underwriting existing business (MTAs and renewals).
  • Manage and serve a panel of assigned brokers' accounts, ensuring accurate policy documentation is issued.
  • Visit brokers as required to develop business and maintain existing book / cross-sell company's products.
  • Produce monthly reports for renewals and provide accurate analysis.
  • Identify poorly performing accounts and take remedial actions as needed.
  • Liaise with Claims team and prepare relevant claim reports.
  • Liaise with Finance team on daily broker/client enquiries and assist Finance team on premium receivables as part of key tasks.
  • Liaise with IT team for system enhancement and the testing of new & existing products.

Requirements

  • Certificate in insurance (Cert CII)
  • MS Office skills such as Excel and PPT etc.
  • Over 2 years' experience in insurance underwriting within commercial/SME lines.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of underwriting insurance risks.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory practices and legislation in the industry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum

Location: City of London
