Job Title: Traffic Management Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Traffic Management Officer to support our Roads Policing Unit in reducing casualties and achieving force targets. The successful candidate will work closely with local authorities and engineers to ensure effective traffic management and diversion strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend pre-contract and traffic management meetings to represent police interests and ensure necessary traffic management and diversions.
- Maintain uniformity of standards in relation to roadworks completion, including signing and recommendations to Senior Officers.
- Respond to proposals from the Highway Authority for Road Traffic Regulation Orders.
- Act as advisor on matters concerning roadworks and police supervision.
- Monitor and update major diversion routes for motorway and trunk road incidents.
- Collaborate with Traffic management companies and authorities to ensure safety on the road network.
Requirements:
- Educated to Level 2 (5 passes including English and Mathematics) or equivalent work experience.
- Considerable experience in Casualty Reduction and Traffic Management, including inputting to and retrieving data from databases.
- Professional working knowledge of traffic legislation and genuine interest in Roads Policing and Road Safety issues.
