Contract Manager Job Description

Our client, a national construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to lead their new projects within the M25 area. The successful candidate will be based out of their Head Office in Orpington and will report directly to the Divisional Director.

The Role:

As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, working closely with the Contract Manager to meet P&L, budgets, and deadlines. You will also be responsible for maintaining the highest level of service and quality, as well as cost control, creating CPP & programming of works and budgeting. Additionally, you will implement strong H&S across all projects and lead a team of site management, supervisors, RLO's, and sub-contractors.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for an experienced professional with extensive building knowledge and experience managing retrofit and contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of up-to-date legislations and excellent organisational skills. They will also have the ability to create a strong working environment, build strong relationships with clients and team members, and have a good knowledge of IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Requirements:
  • Experience in retrofit, EWI/IWI/CWI, ASHPs, Solar Panels, Loft Insulation, Roofing, Heat pumps, and ground pumps
  • IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Building or refurbishment related qualification or demonstrable experience
  • Health and Safety qualification, such as IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS, etc.
  • Level 3 Leadership & Management Qualification or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working within the social housing sector
  • Experience of working to schedules of rate and knowledge of the NHF Schedule of Rates
  • Experience of managing teams of operatives
  • Valid CSCS card (preferable)
