About the Role

The York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Geriatrician to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Frailty Virtual Ward service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients in their own home environment and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to devise holistic management plans.
  • Triage referrals, conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments, perform diagnostics, create treatment plans, and refer to specialty colleagues as necessary.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement projects to further enhance the Frailty Virtual Ward service.
Requirements
  • Hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
  • Have experience working in multidisciplinary teams and be able to establish good working relationships with patients, carers, and colleagues.
  • Be competent in basic clinical procedures and able to prioritize clinical need, time, and workload.
  • Hold a MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, ALS training, and evidence of NHS employment in a training or service post.
