At Todd Hayes Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled Software Applications Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development, installation, and commissioning of our clients' machines.
Key Responsibilities:- Create and modify PLC synchronised motion applications written in structured text or ladder for machines in Beckhoff, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, and Siemens.
- Manage Git repositories and install and configure Linux IPCs in machines.
- Write software programs for safety PLCs and design risk assessments in compliance with relevant standards.
- Liaise with the electrical department to allocate and agree I/O identity and other associated elements of machine control.
- Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance of software records and program backup data.
- Assist the electrical department as priorities and workload require, and visit customers' premises to update, fault-find, commission, install, and repair machinery.
- Experience modifying PLC synchronised motion applications.
- Confidence managing Git repositories.
- Experience writing safety PLCs.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet customer-driven deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- 25 days annual leave + all public holidays.
