Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Airport/Airfield Design Engineer to join our team at Dar.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of international aviation standards and experience in airport layout development and geometric design.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex projects and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

  • This position involves designing and developing airport layouts, including runways, aprons, taxiways, aircraft stands, and landside/airside roads.
  • The successful candidate will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • This role requires strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and guide junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:
  • Design and develop airport layouts, including runways, aprons, taxiways, aircraft stands, and landside/airside roads.
  • Conduct Aviplan simulations for fillet design, aircraft approach paths, and taxiing procedures.
  • Coordinate the placement of airport buildings and facilities, considering their functions and relationships with airfield elements.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on stormwater drainage, utilities, electrical systems, and jet fuel hydrant networks.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, calculation sheets, cost estimates, and design reports.
  • Gather and analyze data, prepare technical documents, and participate in client meetings and presentations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree in Airports is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 to 15 years of relevant experience in airport and airfield design.
  • In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards, including AASHTO and Middle East Road standards.

Estimated Salary: $160,000 - $220,000 per annum.
