About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cybersecurity measures to protect our clients' data, systems, and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Implement Cybersecurity Measures: Develop and implement effective cybersecurity strategies to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage and Monitor Security Systems: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies.
  • Respond to Security Incidents: Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware outbreaks, data breaches, and other security-related issues.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with development, operations, and other teams to ensure that security is integrated into all aspects of the business.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years' experience in a 3rd line technical support role
  • 1-2 years' experience in a security-related technical support role
  • Experience with IT systems engineering lifecycle
  • Understanding of controlling processes for systems engineering lifecycle
  • Understanding of different lifecycles/methodologies (waterfall, incremental, agile, DevOps)
  • Experience working in CNI, or Public Sector project environments
  • Working within an AGILE environment
Desirable Skills
  • Understanding of principles of network and boundary protection technologies
  • Evidence of experience delivering Cloud Security Controls on both Azure and AWS
  • Practical experience of Protective Monitoring systems (SIEM/SOC)
  • Understanding of encryption and protocols and structures in support of deployment
  • Understanding of purpose and effectiveness of penetration tests or IT Health Checks
