Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a leading UK food manufacturer in the FMCG marketplace. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting general maintenance work, covering the whole plant and varied complex machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct reactive maintenance with PPM in between, on mechanical machinery, high pressure boilers, pumps, valves, weighers, baggers, flow wraps, etc.
  • Fix fast-paced industrial production machinery, including gears, motors, conveyors, bearings, etc.
  • Work safely and make recommendations for improvements.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical engineering apprenticeship time served C&G L3 or qualified to NVQ L3.
  • Good experience with LEAN and Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Working to high levels of Health and Safety.
  • Able to work autonomously, with a 'right first time' mentality.
  • Experience within general fast-paced manufacturing production environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills working alongside production staff and shift supervisors.
  • Provide your own tools.
