Robotic Simulation / Virtual Commissioning Engineer

Orion Electrotech is seeking a skilled Robotic Simulation / Virtual Commissioning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our expanding team, you will play a crucial role in analysing product and process design feasibility, optimising simulations, and supporting virtual commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Simulation Cell Design: Build and optimise simulation cells according to customer layouts, ensuring seamless integration with product and process design.
  • Reach and Access Studies: Conduct thorough reach and access studies to guarantee product and process compatibility, minimising potential issues.
  • Robot Selection and Validation: Perform robot selection and validate service functionality to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Collision Zone and Safety Configuration: Setup and validate robot collision zones and safety configurations to guarantee a safe working environment.
  • Virtual Commissioning: Create detailed paths, validate operations, and conduct virtual commissioning to ensure smooth on-site commissioning activities.
  • Documentation and Support: Compile comprehensive documentation and provide support during onsite commissioning activities, ensuring a seamless transition to production.
Desirable Experience:
  • Process Simulate/Robcad BIW: Proficiency in Process Simulate and Robcad BIW is highly desirable, with experience in creating and validating complex simulations.
  • Virtual Commissioning and Robotic Simulation Standards: Familiarity with virtual commissioning and robotic simulation standards, including JLR, BMW, and VOLVO, is essential for success in this role.
  • ABB RobotStudio, CAD Visualisation, and Scripting: Experience with ABB RobotStudio, CAD Visualisation (Catia, NX), and scripting languages (Visual Basic, Python, C++) is highly valued.
  • PLM Software: Proficiency in PLM software (Teamcenter) is desirable, with experience in managing and maintaining complex product data.
Qualifications:
  • Process Simulate Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience with Process Simulate is required, with a strong understanding of simulation principles and practices.
  • Valid UK Driver's License: A valid UK driver's license is essential for occasional travel to customer sites.
  • Willingness to Travel: A willingness to travel (up to 25%) is required, with flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements.

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime and weekend availability as needed.
