We are currently seeking a skilled Cleaning and Maintenance Team Member to join our Communal Services Team based in Central and West London.

The Communal Services Team provides a high standard of services to Octavia Housing properties, tenants and leaseholders. Our team members hold a key role in ensuring our properties and surrounding area will be clean, tidy, safe, secure and in good condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all properties covered by the mobile team are cleaned to a high standard including regular sweeping of external areas, removing litter from communal gardens, cleaning internal areas, prompt removal of graffiti and carry out gardening as required
  • Report and follow up on all communal repairs
  • Inspect play equipment on a regular basis and report any repairs or breakages promptly to ensure the equipment is safe
  • Participate in site inspections
  • Provide advice and signpost residents to other services, and report any support needs to the Housing Services Team
  • Promote a positive image of the Estate Services team and Octavia Housing
  • Ensure all health and safety practices are followed in line with Octavia's policies and procedures, and that all work is carried out safely
  • Work flexibly at a large number of different sites as required

Requirements:

This role would suit an individual who has a background in cleaning, caretaking or building management. The ideal candidate should have sound knowledge of health and safety practices and requirements in relation to cleaning, including COSHH and Manual Handling.

You will be able to deal with resident concerns and complaints, whilst also liaising with our contractors.

To be considered for this role, you must be:

  • Able to be on call out of hours, and deal with emergencies as required
  • Able to manage and prioritise your own work effectively
  • Ability to carry out basic DIY/maintenance tasks
  • Able to carry out physical tasks on a daily basis
