Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and organised individual to fill the role of Ward Clerk on Jervaulx Ward in Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist clinical teams with administration duties, enabling them to focus on providing high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure effective communication with patients, relatives, and staff, both verbally and in writing.
  • Manage and maintain electronic patient records, ensuring accurate and timely updates.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
  • Perform reception duties, ensuring effective communication and providing excellent customer service.
  • Answer telephone calls and take messages, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Report maintenance issues and liaise with the works department, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Arrange Day Case, Ward Attender, and booked admissions, working closely with the Ward Manager.
  • Monitor ward activity, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Liaise with other departments and disciplines, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
Person SpecificationEssential Criteria
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
  • A range of IT and software programmes.
Desirable Criteria
  • Prior experience in a clinical administration role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
