Ophthalmic Healthcare Coordinator

Following appropriate training, supervised practice, and competency achievement assessments, you will be able to undertake the role of Eye Care Assistant - Cataract Surgery within our ophthalmic theatre team. Your responsibilities will include:
* Pre-operative testing: conducting tests prior to examination and treatment, and assisting during the consent appointment process
* Patient discharging: instructing patients on post-procedure care, updating medical records, and making follow-up appointments
* Coordinating patient flow: managing queries and ensuring minimum waiting times for patients
* Assisting surgeons during consent appointments and treatments: acting as scrub assistant, taking notes, and instilling eye drops
You will also be responsible for undertaking the role of HCA in IOL theatre, assisting the surgical team and patients during surgery and associated tasks. Additionally, you will actively participate in end-of-treatment day activities, updating patient files, filing, compiling 'end-of-day' reports for head office, cleaning the department, stock, and lens ordering.
If you have previous experience within an optical or healthcare environment, excellent communication and presentation skills, and a flexible approach to work, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

* A valid UK driving license and own car (essential)
* Flexibility to travel to Thetford clinic when required
