Data Center MEP Systems Engineer

FPG is seeking a skilled Data Center MEP Systems Engineer to join our team on a 6-month rolling contract. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in data centers. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of these systems.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with one of the UK's leading operators and our client will support you with your Security Clearance (SC). Please note that only candidates based in the UK with 5 years of continuous residence and no more than 6 weeks of absence at a time can be considered due to the SC Security Clearance requirement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing comprehensive MEP system designs for data centers, including HVAC, power distribution, lighting, water supply, waste management, and fire protection systems.
- Overseeing the installation and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, IT specialists, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into overall data center designs.
- Implementing energy-efficient solutions and sustainable practices to reduce the data center's environmental footprint and operational costs.
- Ensuring all MEP systems comply with local building codes, regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols.
- Providing ongoing support and maintenance for MEP systems, diagnosing and resolving issues to ensure continuous operation of data centers.
- Maintaining detailed documentation of designs, installations, and maintenance activities.
- Preparing and presenting reports on system performance and project status.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP engineering, with a focus on data centers or similar critical infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in MEP design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit), energy modeling tools, and project management software.
- In-depth understanding of data center infrastructure requirements, including redundancy, scalability, cooling, and power management.
