**Job Overview**

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools across Ellesmere Port and the Wirral. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity in the classroom, covering lessons across various subjects when teachers are absent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Management: Manage classrooms, delivering pre-set lesson plans and keeping students engaged and focused on their work.
  • Support and Supervise: Ensure a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment, maintaining classroom behaviour and providing assistance where needed.
  • Build Relationships: Establish positive relationships with students and staff, contributing to a cohesive and collaborative school culture.
  • Adaptability: Step into different subjects with ease, adapting to the needs of each class and school day.
  • Encourage Independence: Support students in staying on task, encouraging them to take responsibility for their own learning.

Requirements

  • Confidence and Presence: Confidence and presence in the classroom, with strong communication skills to engage students across various year groups.
  • Experience Working with Young People: Experience working with young people is ideal, whether in education, coaching, tutoring, or youth work.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Adaptability and flexibility, ready to handle different subjects, age groups, and school environments.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine passion for education and helping students succeed.
  • Behaviour Management: Ability to manage behaviour effectively while remaining positive and encouraging.
  • Certifications: Enhanced DBS certificate and on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel).
