About Your New Role
We are seeking an experienced Associate or Principal Associate with a strong background in professional indemnity to join our Specialty team. The successful candidate will specialize in lawyers' liability and work closely with our partners to defend claims against professional service providers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively manage cases with limited supervision, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Assist partners with their caseloads, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and court documents, demonstrating strong analytical and technical skills.
- Advise clients on issues of liability and coverage, providing expert guidance and support.
- Liaise with insurers, clients, experts, witnesses, counsel, and other parties, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with client service level agreements, relevant policies, and procedures, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
- Support business development initiatives, contributing to the growth and success of our team.
- Complete management information, providing valuable insights and analysis to inform business decisions.
- Develop and delegate tasks to junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Assist with other work allocated by the Team Manager, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
About You
- At least 5 years' PQE or equivalent, with a strong background in insurance litigation and policy coverage analysis.
- Experience of professional risk claims relating to solicitors and barristers is essential, with a strong understanding of commercial insurance policies and the insurance market.
- Previous secondment to or employment with an insurance organization would be advantageous, demonstrating a deep understanding of the industry and its complexities.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage a caseload effectively, with a commercial, solution-driven, and client-focused approach.
- Strong legal and analytical skills, with excellent organization, time-management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
