Protalent is working with a Top 20 Firm of Accountants to recruit an Audit Assistant Manager. This leading UK audit, tax, and advisory firm is trusted by thousands of clients for their expertise in head office accounting, specialist advice, and readiness to provide added value.

Responsibilities

  • Manage statutory audits and be involved in all stages of the audit process from planning to completion.
  • Show initiative and take responsibility for management of the audit and team to ensure completion within the agreed budget.
  • Manage on-site teams and assist in supervision and development of team members.
  • Deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
  • Supervise audit teams on site, review work of Associates, and assist Senior Audit Managers in project management and client liaison.
  • Alongside other Assistant Managers, report to a Senior Manager on large complex audit assignments and manage a small portfolio of clients as manager.
  • Carry out work profitably and on a timely basis, in accordance with the firm's professional standards and to the satisfaction of our clients and audit senior managers.
  • Support the team in delivering a quality audit timetable and providing insightful comments to reports to the client.
  • Manage and lead assurance and risk management projects - liaise with clients and prepare client reports.

Purpose of the Role

As a qualified Accountant, Assistant Managers in the Audit division are required to lead teams on a range of Audit assignments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage work in progress and billing on client assignments.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of business cycle controls, recognising the audit risks and business implications where controls are absent, ineffective, or inefficient.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Membership with a CCAB body (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, ICAI, AICPA).

Estimated Salary

Ranging from £55,000 to £80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
