Job Title: FOI Officer - Information Governance Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled FOI Officer to join our team at Spencer Clarke Group. As an FOI Officer, you will be responsible for managing Freedom of Information requests from start to finish, ensuring timely responses, accurate tracking, and collaboration with departments to uphold the council's commitment to transparency and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and triage FOI requests within the council's dedicated inbox.
- Maintain your own caseload, tracking and allocating requests to relevant council departments and ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Run regular reports on FOI request statuses and provide reminders to information owners on response deadlines.
- Work closely with colleagues to uphold compliance with FOI regulations, contributing to Westminster Council's information governance objectives.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in an administrative or similar support role, familiarity with Freedom of Information (FOI) processes, public sector information handling, or data governance practices. You will also have experience in managing sensitive or regulated information, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
What's on Offer:
Salary: £26+ph (may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates based on experience)
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
