About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Traffic Signals Engineer to join our Highways Services Team. The successful candidate will have in-depth experience in developing and producing detailed designs for and managing Automatic Traffic Signal (ATS) and Urban Traffic Management & Control (UTC) installations.

The post holder must have experience in procuring and site supervision of ATS and UTC installations and their auxiliary equipment. The role will involve providing detailed advice, technical support, and consulting with outside bodies, including local authorities, in all aspects of traffic signals management.

The successful appointment will be responsible for supporting the Asset Management/Engineering Delivery Team Leaders with programming, designing, and implementing ATS, UTMC, and RTPI schemes in accordance with current bidding requirements and professional standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in traffic management and a proven track record of delivering complex projects. They will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
