Job Title: Medical Staffing Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Medical Staffing Officer to join our team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the Medical Staffing Team, you will be responsible for promoting excellence in customer service and providing proactive, comprehensive, and professional day-to-day HR support services to our staff, bank workers, and honorary staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the recruitment of all Senior Medical and Dental Staff, including Consultants, Specialty and Specialist Doctors (SAS), GPs, and Leadership positions.
  • Organize and attend Consultant interviews, take interview notes, and ensure interview standards are adhered to.
  • Answer and resolve complex enquiries, providing advice and guidance to managers and staff on HR policies and procedures.
  • Be an expert in Junior Doctors' terms and conditions, working with department Rota Coordinators to build and authorize Junior Doctor rotas.
  • Be an expert in Consultant and SAS Terms and Conditions, dealing with queries related to consultant job planning and pay progression.
  • Lead on the annual rotational Doctor in Training onboarding.

Requirements

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze situations, problem-solve, and provide solutions.
  • Assertiveness when required to work to deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Excel and ability to manipulate spreadsheets and produce reports.
