Field Service Engineer (Mobile Mechanic/Vehicle Technician)

Location: Tamworth & Birmingham Territory

Hours: 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £32,000 Starting Salary (£36,000 Starting Salary for Engineers with Forklift Experience)

The Field Service Engineer role is available in a highly successful and international manufacturer of forklift trucks. You'll enjoy comprehensive on-the-job training, an extensive benefits package, and progression routes.

The Field Service Engineer role will be suitable for engineers from any kind of plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural, or similar equipment. This is also a great career opportunity for vehicle technicians looking to move into a new industry, as the company will fully train. You need to demonstrate mechanical service and repair skills and ideally have engine diagnostic and some basic electrical skills.

As part of a team, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance and breakdown coverage on a range of forklifts and associated equipment in Tamworth & Birmingham. No stay away or extensive travel is required. Overtime paid at premium rates is available if desired, mostly during the week.

Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out PPM and breakdown on materials handling machinery on a field service engineering basis
  2. Reactive breakdown coverage within the allocated geographical area
  3. Complete comprehensive training to get fully competent on all machinery and equipment
  4. Spares placed in van overnight

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Experience with plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural or similar equipment, automotive technicians/motor trade will also be suitable
  2. Engine diagnostics and some basic electrical skills
  3. Ideally hold a level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject, Motor Vehicle, Plant or similar
