Electronic Design Engineer | Aerospace | Chelmsford

Our client, a world leader in the scientific and satellite/space industries, is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to join their team in Chelmsford. As an Electronic Design Engineer, you will be working at the cutting-edge of technology, designing compact, high-reliability high-voltage systems for airborne military applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-voltage systems for military applications, ensuring reliability and cost targets are met.
  • Verify circuit and system designs through simulation, practical testing, and environmental testing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, legislative, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Participate in post-launch improvements, including addressing obsolescence and regulatory changes.
Requirements:
  • Strong background in Power Electronic Systems Design, including Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design, PCB design, and high-frequency digital and analogue circuits for MILSPEC applications.
  • Proven experience designing for reliability (MTBF) in electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with encapsulation techniques for electronics in demanding environments.
  • Experience conducting failure analysis using DfMEA/FMECA.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and safe working practices.
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent practical experience in relevant product technology.
