About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Network Specialist to maintain our team's highest level of service and keep our network security levels ahead of business demands. This involves pushing for more standardisation through automation in Jane Street's numerous distributed systems built on an agile, reliable, multi-vendor network infrastructure.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills will be needed to collaborate with colleagues globally. You will find and resolve issues, plan and execute deployments, and improve systems where possible. Additional responsibilities include assessing firewall policies against security standards and business needs, working closely with the Cybersecurity team to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities, and interacting with stakeholders to establish and push firewall policies.

You will also troubleshoot issues by analysing packet captures and reviewing audit logs, work closely with the Network Engineering team on DMZ designs and deployments, and contribute to support tasks and actively take steps to improve the team's ability to monitor systems effectively through scripting and/or conveying requirements to dedicated developers.

About the Position

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. We strive to offer competitive salaries based on your qualifications and performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Hands-on experience with firewall configuration and troubleshooting
  2. Strong understanding of network security principles and technologies (e.g., TCP, ARP, BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS)
  3. Experience designing a DMZ network
  4. Motivated to automate workflows to increase efficiency
  5. Strong ability to context switch and organise your workload
  6. Clear communication skills and a high degree of customer service
  7. A flexible and reliable team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment
  8. Proficiency in a programming language is preferred
  9. Fluency in English is required
