We are seeking a highly skilled Team Leader to support a team of 2 shift-based Multi-Skilled Engineers working 4 on, 4 off, days and nights.

Essential Ingredients

  • Structured and practical engineering training (e.g. apprenticeship/HNC/degree).
  • Knowledge and experience of maintenance preferably in a FMCG environment.
  • Basic PLC experience and fault-finding diagnostics (Allen Bradley) would be desirable but not essential.
  • Electrical and Mechanical engineering experience.
  • IT and PC knowledge to use widespread functions within relevant software (Inc Office and SAP).

The Recipe for Success

As an Engineering Team Leader at our Bolton Bakery, you'll play a critical role in supporting the delivery of planned and preventative maintenance. This role is a lead position in a critical area of our Engineering team, requiring hands-on involvement and a willingness to train and coach our operations team with autonomous maintenance. Innovation, accountability, good leadership skills, and technical engineering knowledge are essential for this role.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing, developing, and engaging a small team of 2 Multi-Skilled Engineers to drive the effectiveness of the engineering team in reducing downtime and increasing productivity. You'll ensure daily preventative maintenance activities are completed to a high standard, breakdowns are resolved quickly and efficiently to maximise plant reliability, performance, product quality, and safety. You will take the lead on more complex maintenance tasks, ensure required parts are available, and be responsible for a detailed handover to the next shift team.
