About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Barratt Developments PLC. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager in the effective management of the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Finance Manager in the half-year end and year-end reporting and audit process
  • Support the Finance Manager in preparing monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Assist with accurate and robust forecasting and planning in line with Group requirements
  • Liaise closely with Commercial team to manage project budgets and forecasts and subcontractor accounts
  • Support payment processing to ensure an accurate and timely service, using the Group systems.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for VAT, subcontractors tax and CITB payments as appropriate
  • Support the continuous improvements and developments of reporting, procedures and governance
  • Promote and act in accordance with Group values, systems, policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • A professionally qualified accountant or qualified by experience, ideally within the house-building sector.
  • A strong team motivator with the drive and tenacity to achieve the goals of the business.
  • Highly numerate with strong IT and financial analysis skills, coupled with the ability to interpret data and assess impacts on the business.
  • Experience of managing budgets/cost control, and planning and organising work to meet targets.
  • Able and willing to contribute a professional opinion to the overall management of the business.
  • Self-confident, decisive, resilient and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
