We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Design Engineer to join our team in Grimsby. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design within the industrial sector, with experience in the heavy industry sector being a significant advantage.

The successful candidate will be motivated and hardworking, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. They will also have the capability to liaise with clients and develop strong relationships.

Our work is primarily based locally, but occasional visits to client sites may be required. There are opportunities for overtime and weekend work may be necessary on occasion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with clients to discuss future projects
  • Conducting site surveys for potential jobs
  • Creating conceptual drawings and meeting with clients to ensure their needs are met
  • Preparing quotations for works, including survey, design, and material costs
  • Utilizing laser scanning and surveying techniques
  • Developing 3D models and designs
  • Creating drawing packages, including fabrication, installation, and BSEN compliance (design only)
  • Compiling bills of materials for relevant fabricators to order
  • Providing design assistance during fabrication when needed
  • Project management, including Gantt chart creation and leading client meetings
  • Maintaining monthly internal meetings with the Director

We are looking for an individual with a Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent, and expertise in Autodesk Product Design Suite, particularly Inventor or client-based software. Experience with Autodesk AEC Collection, specifically Advanced Steel and Revit, and/or Tekla is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with calculations using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), proficient in Microsoft Projects, and possess good leadership and communication skills. Additionally, they should have a good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as a full UK driving license.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary, negotiable based on experience, and ranging from £45,000 to £50,000 per annum, plus benefits.
