Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Freight Trade Specialist to join our team in Derby, Derbyshire, United Kingdom.

Job Summary

This is a full-time role that will work within the Road logistics Full & Part load team, organising shipments on behalf of mainly general cargo customers. The successful candidate will ensure customer excellence and compliance in all aspects of the road freight import, export, cross-trade, and domestic distribution operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide industry expertise for operational duties and functions related to road freight operations.
  • SUPPORT THE INDUCTION AND TRAINING OF INTERNAL STAFF, ENSURING CORRECT PROCEDURES ARE FOLLOWED.
  • SUPPORT THE ON-BOARDING OF NEW CUSTOMERS, INCLUDING SUPPORTING WITH SOP GENERATION AND WORK INSTRUCTION GENERATION WHERE NECESSARY.
  • Calculate and supply rates, ensuring the best price and solutions are gained quickly for spot quotations.
  • Provide competitive quotations for effective solutions in a timely manner to customer services through the utilisation of our network and supplier base.
  • Ensure transport planning is completed and passing of correct details to the relevant team.
  • Customs knowledge on documentation requirements for Import and Export shipments.
  • Invoice shipments in a timely manner, ensuring excellent data quality.
  • Raise additional invoices where relevant.
Requirements
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
  • Knowledge of current Customs Procedures.
  • Customs documentation requirements.
  • Experience in quotations.
  • Excellent Organisational and time Management skills.
  • Ability to work well as a team member.
  • Experience in Dangerous Goods by Road.
  • Competent in Word & Excel.
  • Experience in working with Customers(internal).
  • Understanding of KN systems.
  • Transport Planning.
  • Behaviours to be in line with KN behaviours.
