Job Title: Multi-skilled General Trades Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Trades Technician to join our team at Coventry Building Society Arena. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the venue's infrastructure, ensuring that all systems and equipment are functioning properly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including repairs to woodwork, metalwork, decorating, flooring, and other building fabric work.
  • Undertake in-house training and inductions as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor/ Facilities Coordinator.
  • Work flexibly as part of a team and assist all other departments when necessary to enable the venue to operate effectively.
  • Operate a planned preventative maintenance scheme to all Coventry Building Society Arena doors, locks, ironmongery, door furniture, fixtures, fittings, fire doors, emergency lights, water compliance, plant checks.
  • Supports and advises the Maintenance Supervisor/ Facilities Coordinator of new designs and improvements to facilities to improve the quality and efficiency of the service provided.
  • Maintain awareness and adheres to current good working practices that conform to health and safety regulations and legislation.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience working in large commercial buildings, stadiums, exhibition halls, multi-function facilities, hotels or similar.
  • Knowledge of good general building maintenance working practices and safe systems of work.
  • Awareness of relevant Building Regulations and codes of practice.
  • Must have a flexible approach and a willingness to train and be developed to meet future needs of the department.
  • Awareness of and a commitment to the legal requirements for Health & Safety.
